Tom Marchese is CardPlayer of the Year 2010

Before this year was Tom Marchese had not cashed in a single live tournament.  In January, he was third at the Borgata Winter Open, winning $ 190,000 and his first money gambling in a live tournament. In the course of the year proved Marchese that he is not a one hit wonder, and collected more CardPlayer Magazine's Player of the Year points anyone else.

In February Marchese won the first North American Poker Tour (NAPT) event, a $ 5,000 buy-in tournament at the Venetian in Las Vegas for $ 827,000. This win has catapulted him into an early lead.

In September Dwyte Pilgrim took his first place finish at the Borgata Poker Open to overtake Marchese in the race for the title game of the year. However, Marchese was less than a week late 7th EPT London Main Event. This, combined with his third place finish at the World Poker Finals at Foxwoods in October and a victory at a Five Diamond World Poker Classic tournament last month brought Marchese regained the lead where he stayed until the end of the year.

Marquis finished the year with 6.738 points player of the year and $ 2 million in profits. Pilgrim finished second with 5.576 points and over a million in winnings. Online phenomenon Sorel "Imper1um" Mizzi had his best year in live tournaments and was third with 4.851 points and in just over $ 1.5 tournament winnings.

Congratulations to Tom Marchese on his victory to the CardPlayer Player of the Year 2010!
